After spending days hidden between two walls in their Kyiv apartment -surrounded by pillows, clutching a hammer and an axe in fear of rape,
a young Ukrainian artist and her mother fled the devastation of war. Escaping the bombings, they eventually found fragile refuge in Chamonix, France. I was invited into their new, uncertain world to document their story. The result is an intimate portrait of displacement, resilience, and the quiet strength it takes to rebuild a sense of self far from home. Through a minimal, observational lens, the film captures both the trauma left behind and the tentative hope of a life beginning again
